IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR IS THE VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION PROJECT DIRECTOR.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Addiction Counseling or Social Science.
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge of: industrial, commercial, and professional occupations; common physical, mental and learning disabilities and their social implications.
- Ability to evaluate aptitudes, skills, interests and educational backgrounds of clients to determine rehabilitative and employment possibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for arranging and interpreting assessments of function and diagnostics, provides professional vocational rehabilitation counseling, and placement services to vocational rehabilitation clients.
- Assists physically nd mentally handicapped persons to become vocationally competent.
- Participates in the total rehabilitation of individuals either in a specific caseload including all disabilities of persons who are eligible under State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Develops and maintains an active case-finding program through contacts with agencies, hospitals, physicians, rehabilitation centers, schools, and other agencies.
- Interviews applicants for determination of eligibility for service, the extent and nature of the handicap, and their need for and the feasibility of their under-taking rehabilitation services; may participate as a member of a treatment team.
- Assists clients in securing employment commensurate with their interests and abilities; follow-ups to ascertain the permanency of employment.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- THIS IS A NON – SMOKING POSITION DUE TO OUR CLIENTS WITH SEVERE PULMONARY ISSUES.
