Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree (required) in education, workforce education, career & technical education, training & development, adult education, human resources, appropriate instructional, social or behavioral science, and/or related field. A minimum of 3 years of documented experience in instructing/facilitating learning of adult students, preferably at the college level.
Summary of Work:
The Community Coordinator position provides management and employee training for personnel in public and private organizations/agencies; works externally with business, industry, governmental and tribal organizations to develop customized educational and training programs and services that meet workforce challenges; organizes/provides/sets-up training schedules and courses to meet workforce development and workforce training needs of local community. This position also designs and delivers customized training responsive to identified needs; responsible for recruitment, advisement, and retention of students enrolled in the program; prepare reports and lesson plans; search and apply current teaching materials.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Aggressively work with business and industry in the identification of educational and training needs, the development of customized training programs and courses.
- Conducts community and employer surveys to determine training needs.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with business, industry, and local organizations (tribal and government) for the purpose of assessing training needs.
- Coordinate all courses, workshops, and training efforts through the Registrar’s office to ensure processes and procedures are followed.
- Build and infrastructure that will support customer service by creating and implementing standardized agreements.
- Communicate with workforce divisions across the Reservation, County, and State to ensure workforce training needs are being met.
- Evaluate feedback from training materials and workshops and adjust accordingly.
- Ensure that classroom equipment is available and in working order.
- Keep library of current and up-to-date teaching materials.
- Responsible for recruitment and retention of students in the program.
- Create advertising materials (brochures, flyers).
- Prepare reports and lesson plans.
- Plan daily schedule to accomplish tasks in a timely manner and meet multiple deadlines.
- Research possible training solutions outside of the institution.
- Monitor student progress and attendance.
